4 Live Systems
I started where a lot of devs don't: in the Marines, deployed to Sangin Valley in 2011. That context doesn't make me a better coder. It makes me someone who doesn't panic when things break, who operates without a full picture, and who understands what it actually costs when a system fails under pressure.
After the service, I spent years in business — MBA from DeVry, time in operations, volunteer infrastructure work with an agricultural cooperative in Brazil. I learned how organizations actually function versus how they're supposed to function. That gap is where most problems live.
The shift to coding came through a post-graduate program in Business Analytics and AI Intelligence. I wasn't trying to become a developer. I was trying to stop waiting for developers. Claude Code became my dev tool. I became the architect, the QA, and the product owner — all at once. In about six months, that approach produced four live production systems: a trading intelligence platform, a marketing automation SaaS, an AI companion app shipped to Android, and a full digital studio with client automation baked in.
What's unusual isn't the speed. It's that all four systems are real. They have databases, job queues, broker integrations, 1,300+ automated tests, and production bugs that got diagnosed and fixed. I didn't code demos. I coded products that run.
